Speaking candidly in an interview with ETimes, Sara revealed that she got acquainted with the hunk long before they were infamously “introduced” by Ranveer Singh at an event. As the tabloid pages go, the Bollywood star tired playing cupid and formally introduced the two young hotties to each other and even made them hold hands apart from sitting together.
Opening up about whether Ranveer was indeed cupid in their rumoured love story, Sara said, “I think I give us good marks for this because that was our first acting exercise together. We’d already met at Imtiaz sir’s office.”
She went on to explain, “You know, I’ll be honest with you that time was also different. I was, I think, a little more naive in my behaviour in general, in the way that I would say things. You know, I’ve always been like a confident kind of girl that says what comes to her mind, which is something that he’s just finished appreciating about me. But I think I used to say things maybe without even realizing what I’m saying. Without realizing the consequences of what I’m saying, I didn’t ever imagine that a year and two months after, a statement made on a chat show with Karan Johar, I would be sitting here promoting an Imtiaz Ali film with Kartik, talking about that statement.”
“So I think I’ve actually grown to realize that there is a time and place for everything. I think that somewhere down the line, I’m going to be a little more cognizant of what I say, just for this factor, because with all things said, I think that Kartik and I have invested a lot of effort into this film. You know, it’s been a lot of hard work. And it’s been a lot of serious work,” she added.
‘Love Aaj Kal’, that also stars Randeep Hooda and Arushi Sharma in significant roles, arrives in theatres on February 14, in time for Valentine’s day.
