This summer season, channel your internal Lizzie Armitstead or Sir Bradley Wiggins and tackle the Nice Yorkshire Bike Journey, a 70-mile charity journey by way of Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside.
On the 13th June, round 2,000 cyclists will depart from Wetherby and wind their manner by way of the Howardian Hills and Yorkshire Wolds to the end line in Filey.
The Nice Yorkshire Bike Journey which is over 35 years previous, is hoping to interrupt the £3m fundraising barrier this 12 months, with cash being raised by way of rider sponsorship.
The cash raised will likely be divided between varied Yorkshire charities, together with Coronary heart Analysis UK, The Candlelighters Belief, Wetherby Lions, Phys Cap Ryedale & District MENCAP, Yorkshire Most cancers Analysis, Hollybank Belief and Jennyruth Workshops.
John Taylorson MBE, who based the Nice Yorkshire Bike Journey, mentioned: “When the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride was founded over 35 years ago, we never could have imagined that it would have grown to this size and be supporting so many amazing charities.
“This year, we are hoping to smash another milestone and raise our three-millionth pound – it really would be a fantastic achievement and will go such a long way to assist these wonderful charities in the amazing work that they do.
“You don’t need to be a really experienced cyclist to take part – the beauty of the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride is that it’s incredibly friendly and sociable. Everyone can get involved and help us raise as much money as possible.”

Riders will likely be supported by skilled back-up and medical help, with common refreshment stops and lunch supplied.
